My grandchildren

Lamia is third grandaughter and she has an elder sister called Sania. Her elder cousins are Hibah and Haniyyah and her younger cousin is Zahi.
Lamia goes to the kindergarten together with Haniyyah from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
Lamia and family live six houses away from us in the same street. They have a really big garden and a swimming pool next to their house.
She is a very lively girl and unlike her elder sister is very independent.

Dodoland

Mauritius is known as Dodoland as the extinct bird dodo existed in Mauritius only. When the Dutch occupied Mauritius they ate these birds as these could not fly and became an easy prey to man. The dodo appears on the country's coat of arms. Dead as the dodo, a common expression here in Mauritius and is the titleof a a novel written long time ago. The Natural History Musuem in Port Louis proudly exhibits a few skeletons of the dodo, reconstructed from bones discovered from La Mare auxSonges, in the south of the island.
